Hillbrush Sweeps Away Inefficiencies of Manual Accounts Payable and Order Management Processing

Derby, UK — November 14th, 2019 — Esker, a worldwide leader in AI-driven document process automation solutions and pioneer in cloud computing, today announced that Hillbrush, leading UK manufacturer of hygienic cleaning equipment, has chosen Esker to improve their accounts payable and order management processes.

Hillbrush has over two thousand products in its range and distributes orders through partners in over 90 countries. Therefore being able to be as efficient as possible in the processing of back office operations was essential to maintaining its leading manufacturing status and their mission for continuous development.

Hillbrush made the decision to work with Esker initially to improve the way orders were processed by automating their current manual process. Many of the traditional drawbacks from having a manual process could now be eliminated, such as reprocessing orders, issuing credits and poor visibility of workload.

After identifying the potential benefits with improving the order management process through automation, Hillbrush decided to look at the accounts payable function and apply the same digital transformation. They identified further improvements could be made to increase the processing speed and visibility of invoices, on-time invoice payments, rapid dispute resolution with real-time communication. In addition, being able to reduce the risk and prevention of fraud by utilising a full audit trail and rules-based electronic workflow to identify any duplicate payments was quickly realised.

Therefore having a solution that would enable Hillbrush to automate approximately 30,000 transactional documents for both their manual order process and accounts payable process would alleviate many of the non-value added tasks and subsequent limitations identified, as well as bring multiple business benefits.

Andy Coward, Managing Director, commented: “We were keen to work with Esker and undergo a skills transfer to carry out much of the development ourselves. This joint effort allowed for a very short implementation time and we were able to complete the project within 6 weeks”.

Andy continued; “After only 3 weeks we were automatically capturing over 90% of the data fields required through the use of Esker’s AI-driven automation solutions, allowing the overall order management and accounts payable processes to be dramatically improved”.
