IMI Precision Engineering implements SaaS Accounts Payable solution

Derby, UK — October 21st, 2019Esker, a worldwide leader in AI-driven process automation solutions and pioneer in cloud computing, today announced that IMI Precision Engineering, a world leader in pneumatic motion and fluid control technologies, has chosen Esker to automate its accounts payable (AP) process.

IMI Precision Engineering required a cloud solution that offered a software as a service (SaaS) model. Not only would a SaaS solution allow for AP workflow outside their multiple ERP instances of JD Edwards, it would help stop unnecessary capital expenditure and IT complexity as there would be no additional software, hardware or maintenance associated with the implementation. After considering all available solutions within the marketplace, Esker was chosen as the best fit for the requirements of IMI Precision Engineering.

Esker has enabled IMI Precision Engineering to have workflow outside of their ERP systems allowing users to access all relevant information in order to make an informed decision when approving an invoice, without the need to be an ERP solution user. This has reduced the need to add ERP seats in the execution of their AP automation project. Users have a single access point for invoice data along with the original document image and a history of actions carried out. As a result, IMI Precision Engineering can now share AP data across business applications and other departments as well as across the whole business with relative ease.

IMI Precision Engineering have already seen better than expected results, leading to 93% of all information being captured automatically by eliminating time-consuming manual processing.

Esker’s cloud-based Accounts Payable solution has also enabled IMI Precision Engineering to:

  • Roll out shared services to standardise processing across multiple sites
  • Minimise costs by storing invoices and communications in one online portal
  • Increase visibility and tracking throughout the entire invoicing life cycle
  • Free up the time of AP specialists to redeploy on value adding tasks
